Privacy and your data: what we keep and why

This page explains, in ordinary words, what happens to the details you give the hall through this website.

In short

A small amount of data, kept for a short time

Wollemi Hall collects very little. The only way to give the hall personal details through this website is the booking form, and the only purpose of those details is to answer your request. The hall does not sell data, does not build profiles of guests, and does not send marketing messages to people who only asked for a table.

The hall tries to follow the intent of the Australian Privacy Principles in everything it does with personal information. The sections below set out what is collected, your rights, how data is protected and who to contact. The operator of the venue, named on the About page and in the footer, is responsible for the data.

The detail, topic by topic

What the booking form collects

The form asks for your name, email address, the date, time and number of guests, a seating preference and an optional comment. It also records your confirmation that you are 18 or over for the casino room. No payment details, passport numbers or financial information are requested, now or at any later stage.

Your rights

You may ask to see what the hall holds about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. You may also withdraw your consent to being contacted. Requests are answered within thirty days and cost nothing. If you remain unhappy, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Cookies and similar notes

This website stores two small notes in your browser, one for your age confirmation and one for your cookie choice. They are described on the Cookies in brief page, together with the map on the contact page, which loads from an outside provider as soon as that page is opened.

Young people

The casino room and this website are meant for adults. The hall does not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If a young person has sent a booking request by mistake, please tell us and the request will be deleted at once. Children may dine with adults, but the booking form is for the adult responsible.

How data is protected

Booking messages are read only by the host and the floor manager. They are held in a locked inbox and are not copied to personal devices. Paper notes made from a telephone call are shredded at the end of the week, and nothing is kept in a public place or shared with the neighbouring businesses.

Who to contact about your data

Write to the booking address shown on the Our front door page, marked for the attention of the floor manager. You will receive a reply from a person, normally within two working days, and a written answer to any formal request within thirty.

Changes to this page

If the way the hall handles data ever changes, this page will be rewritten before the change takes effect. A shorter or older version is not kept in parallel, so the page you read here is the page that applies today.
